14 Equipment
14.1 General
14.1.1 To entitle
a ship to be assigned the figure 1 in its character of classification,
equipment in accordance with these requirements is to be provided.
14.2 Equipment Number
14.2.1 The equipment
of anchors and chain cables specified in 14.3 is based on an ‘Equipment
Number (NL)’ which is to be calculated as follows:
14.2.2 The ‘Equipment
Number (NL)’ to be used, is given by:

of their length, breadth and height in metres;

14.2.3 Only deckhouses and other erections having a breadth greater than B/4 are to be
included.

of the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority.

guidelines from the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation for
a ship to transit the St. Lawrence River are given in The Seaway
