Section 3 Owner’s responsibilities

3.1 General

3.1.1 It is the Owner’s/Naval Authority’s responsibility to ensure that ships are prepared and submitted for survey when necessary. In the normal course of events, Surveyors will only attend on board when requested to do so by the Owner/Naval Authority or delegated representative.

3.1.2 All repairs necessary for the ship to retain her class are to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Surveyors. When repairs have been effected at a location where the services of a Surveyor to LR are not available, the Owner/Naval Authority are required to arrange for the repairs to be examined by one of LR’s Surveyors at the earliest opportunity thereafter.
