Section 2 Examples of deformation

2.1 General

2.1.1 If the repairs are in way of tank boundaries, then the repair should be tested by means of a hydrostatic test of a tank from one side or by means of an air/leak test. In cases where such a test is not possible, a suitable NDE method may be used, though the use of NDE methods should be limited.

2.1.2 If the repairs are in way of dry spaces, then the testing may be a leak test using a vacuum box.

2.1.3 Butts in stiffeners in way of bulkhead inserts are to be at 75 mm from insert plate butts.
