![]() Section 11 Testing and trials![]() 11.1 Testing and trials11.1.1 Testing of consumers and equipment shall be carried out in accordance with test schedules agreed by LR. In general, the arrangements for testing shall be equivalent to those required for oil-fuelled machinery and equipment. 11.1.2 Consideration will be given to carrying out methanol fuel tests when the ship is at sea where the engine and its control systems have previously been tested in the oil-fuelled operating mode to the satisfaction of LR. 11.1.3 Commissioning tests and trials shall be carried out in accordance with the testing programme which is required to be submitted by Ch 1, 2.1 Documentation required for design review 2.1.1.(q), (Ch 1, 2.1 Documentation required for design review 2.1.1.(r)) and (Ch 1, 2.1 Documentation required for design review 2.1.1.(t)). The testing programme shall be agreed by LR and all tests shall be carried out in the presence of a Surveyor. 11.1.4 Trials shall include the testing of all alarms and safeguards associated with the fuel supply system and consumers and equipment. At first loading, the testing of high and high-high level alarms shall be conducted by raising the liquid level in the fuel tank to the alarm point. All elements of the level alarms, including the electrical circuit and the sensor(s), of the high and high-high alarms, shall be function tested. |
