Section 1 Functional requirements
1.1 Functional requirements
1.1.1 To provide sufficient electrical power and redundancy to supply the required essential services and habitability requirements during all operational conditions without recourse to the emergency electrical supply.
1.1.2 To provide sufficient electrical power to supply services for ship safety systems during various emergency conditions.
1.1.3 To provide electrical equipment with suitable protection under fault conditions to prevent the following:
- damage to the equipment itself;
- damage to equipment connected to it; and
- injury to crew and passengers.
1.1.4 To provide the electrical power necessary for an effective and agreed level of propulsion power.
