Section 1 Scope

1.1 Scope

1.1.1 The requirements of this Chapter address the impact of local hazardous atmospheres on the submarine due to the leakage of stored fluids and gases or evolved gases from equipment and machinery. In particular the impact on:

  1. Embarked persons; and
  2. Equipment operating in flammable atmospheres.

1.1.2 Control of the submarine atmosphere to maintain the health of embarked persons. Atmosphere Control requirements shall be complied with.
