4.7 Methods of repair

  4.7.1 At sea, the pipe material should be capable of temporary repair by the crew, and the necessary materials and tools kept on board.

  4.7.2 Permanent repairs to the piping material should be capable of exhibiting the same mechanical and physical properties as the original base material. Repairs carried out and tested to the satisfaction of the Administration may be considered permanent provided the strength is adequate for the intended service.
