5.1.1 The following strengthening and repair techniques can be considered for
an offshore structure as a mitigation plan for structural defects:
- Weld grinding;
- Member replacing;
- Underwater welding;
- Member grouting;
- Member or joint clamping;
- Marine growth removal;
- Anode replacement;
- Scour backfill or additional scour protection.
5.1.2 Where repairs are not practical then structural online monitoring systems
could be utilised to continuously monitor for changes in integrity of the
structures.
