4 Primary Supporting Members

4.1 Load calculation point

4.1.1 The load calculation point is located at the middle of the full length, ℓ, at the attachment point of the primary supporting member with its attached plate. However, for primary supporting members in the cargo hold region the requirements in Pt 2, Ch 1, Sec 4, [4], as applicable, for bulk carriers and Pt 2, Ch 2, Sec 3, [1] for oil tankers are to be followed.

For primary supporting members located on transom plate, the y coordinate of the load calculation point is to be taken corresponding to y value at side shell at z level of load calculation point for the external dynamic pressure calculation.
