Section 2 Superstructure modes

2.1 Superstructure vibration may be caused by vibration of the hull girder or resonant behaviour of the deckhouse, Figure 4.2.1 Ship superstructure modes of vibration . A lack of deckhouse stiffness and poor vertical support or continuity will exacerbate vibration levels.
