Section 3 Acceptable vibration levels

3.1 Excessive vibration of the ship’s structure manifests itself as cracking of the ship’s structure (e.g. bulkheads, tanks), failure of equipment (e.g. radars), and uncomfortable living and working conditions. Guidance values for these as local phenomena are given elsewhere in these Guidance Notes.
