Characters of classification and class notations (Machinery special features)
Ships complying with the requirements of these Rules will be eligible for assignment of the DC machinery special features notation. The notation shall be mandatory for vessels incorporating a d.c. bus architecture and using converting equipment for the supply and distribution of electrical power to constant voltage essential consumers.
DC: The notation shall be assigned where the main propelling, auxiliary machinery and essential services are supplied with power fed through a d.c. bus arrangement.
