Section 1 Objective and scope

1.1 General

1.1.1 The Standards Justification process considers the justifications provided for the proposed use of project specifications, Rules, Codes and standards and independently assesses their suitability in meeting the Submarine Assurance Framework Goals, Functional Objectives and Performance Requirements.

1.1.2 The scope of verification and the verification activities to be carried out by LR are proposed by the submarine Designer, agreed by LR and detailed in a Standards Plan and Justification Document.

1.1.3 The Standards Plan and Justification Document is considered an integral part of the Submarine Assurance Plan.

1.1.4 The results of the Standards Justification process are to be documented in a Standards Justification Report.
