The purpose of the notation is to indicate the craft serves a specific yacht. The
Support Yacht Craft notation is an integral part of a yacht’s operation,
providing facilities that would be too large or too cumbersome on the main vessel.
It could be seen as a tender that just happens to be too large to take on board of
the main yacht.
Note If it is the intention to operate the craft independently,
providing services on a commercial basis, such as hiring out tools and
equipment, providing a helicopter landing area and support services, etc.,
applying the class notation +100A1 SSC Workboat or, depending on type and
operation area, applying +100A1 notation as set out in the Ship Rules
would be more appropriate.
