3.6 Computing unit

  3.6.1 A computing unit is a device which receives automatic signals of:

  • .1 oil content of the effluent; and

  • .2 date and time (GMT);

In addition, the computing unit should be arranged to accept manual input of:

  • .3 status of the overboard discharge arrangement;

  • .4 flow rate of discharge; and

  • .5 ship's speed in knots.

  3.6.2 The unit shall make automatic recordings of data as specified in paragraph 5.8.2.
