6.1 Fees are to be charged as follows:

  • The fees for the General Approval of the program are generally borne by the software manufacturer.

  • The fees for the appraisal of the test conditions will be advised by the appropriate plan approval office to either the builder or owner where applicable.

  • The fees associated with the initial installation test for new construction are covered by the specific component of the first entry fee.

  • For newly installed or replacement software, and software supplied following the alteration or conversion of a ship, a fee for the appraisal of test conditions will be charged by Clasification Society, to the owners/managers of the vessel.

  • For existing vessels the LR Surveyors will charge a fee for the installation test, based on time and expenses incurred.

  • Fees for the appraisal of test conditions for specific ships are based on the test conditions being taken from the approved Loading/Trim and Stability Booklet and the program using calculation methods and data/information shown in the approved Loading/Trim and Stability Booklet. Where this is not the case, LR may make additional charges to cover the work involved in validating the data used. It is the software supplier’s responsibility to so advise their client.
