Maritime Safety Committee

  1 With a view to ensuring uniform application of the requirements of SOLAS regulations II-2/3.3.1 and 3.3.2, the Maritime Safety Committee, at its seventy-fourth session (30 May to 8 June 2001), approved the unified interpretation prepared by the Sub-Committee on Fire Protection, at its forty-fifth session, as set out in the attached annex.

  2 Member Governments are invited to use the said unified interpretation as guidance when applying the provisions of SOLAS regulations II-2/3.3.1 and 3.3.2, and to bring it to the attention of all parties concerned.
