11.1 Reference standards in support of TQ
11.1.1 A number of recognised standards and other documents have been published that relate
to, or support, TQ. The list below provides an overview of some of those used most
prominently in relevant industries:
- API RP 17N – Recommended practice for subsea production
system reliability and technical risk management;
- API RP 17Q – Subsea equipment qualification –
standardized process for documentation;
- BS 5760 – Part 2 - Reliability of systems, equipment and
components. Guide to the assessment of reliability;
- BS 5760 – Part 5 – Reliability of systems, equipment and
components. Guide to failure modes, effects and criticality analysis (FMEA
and FMECA);
- IEC/ISO 31010 – Risk management – risk assessment
techniques;
- IEC 60812 – Analysis techniques for system reliability –
procedure for failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA);
- IEC 61025 – Fault tree analysis (FTA);
- IEC 61882 – Hazard and operability (HAZOP studies) –
