2.1 Functional objectives

2.1.1 Obsolescence shall be managed by the Navy, designer, builder and their supply chains throughout the lifecycle of the submarine.

2.1.2 The submarine, systems, equipment and components shall be designed to consider obsolescence.

2.1.3 Assessments are to be undertaken to determine the impact of obsolescence on the submarine systems, equipment and components.
