The Maritime Safety Committee

  1 The Maritime Safety Committee, with a view to defining more specifically the phrases on human performance criteria used in IMO instruments, approved, at its sixty-sixth session (28 May to 6 June 1996), interpretation of such phrases contained in SOLAS chapter II-1, as set out in the annex.

  2 Governments are invited to take account of these interpretations when applying relevant requirements of chapter II-1 of the 1974 SOLAS Convention.
