Section 12 Seawater temperature

12.1 Functional objective

12.1.1 The submarine, systems, equipment and components shall be able to operate when exposed to the range of water temperatures which can be experienced by the submarine in all foreseeable operating conditions.

12.2 Performance requirements

12.2.1 The maximum and minimum static and transient water temperature shall be defined for normal and abnormal operating conditions.

12.2.2 The systems, equipment and components are to be verified as being effective and safe for the full range of water temperature.
