14.3.1 Sufficient, but not less than three complete
sets of safety equipment shall be provided in addition to the firefighter's
outfits required by 11.6.1. Each set shall provide adequate personal
protection to permit entry and work in a gas-filled space. This equipment
shall take into account the nature of the cargoes, listed on the International
Certificate of Fitness for the Carriage of Liquified Gases in Bulk
shown in appendix 2.
14.3.2 Each complete set of safety equipment shall
consist of:

.1 one self-contained positive pressure air-breathing
apparatus incorporating full face mask, not using stored oxygen and
having a capacity of at least 1,200 ℓ of free air. Each set shall
be compatible with that required by 11.6.1;

.2 protective clothing, boots and gloves to a
recognized standard;
-
.3 steel-cored rescue line with belt; and
-
.4 explosion-proof lamp.
14.3.3 An adequate supply of compressed air shall
be provided and shall consist of:
-
.1 at least one fully charged spare air bottle
for each breathing apparatus required by 14.3.1;
-
.2 an air compressor of adequate capacity capable
of continuous operation, suitable for the supply of high-pressure
air of breathable quality; and
-
.3 a charging manifold capable of dealing with
sufficient spare breathing apparatus air bottles for the breathing
apparatus required by 14.3.1.
