13.5.1 Each cargo tank shall be provided with
at least two devices for indicating cargo temperatures, one placed
at the bottom of the cargo tank and the second near the top of the
tank, below the highest allowable liquid level. The lowest temperature
for which the cargo tank has been designed, as shown on the International
Certificate of Fitness for the Carriage of Liquefied Gases in Bulk
required by 1.4.4, shall be clearly indicated by means of a sign on
or near the temperature indicating devices.
13.5.2 The temperature indicating devices shall
be capable of providing temperature indication across the expected
cargo operating temperature range of the cargo tanks.
13.5.3 Where thermowells are fitted, they shall
be designed to minimize failure due to fatigue in normal service.
