8.1 References in support of flexible pipes

A number of recognised standards and other documents have been published that relate to or support flexible pipes. The list below provides an overview of some of those used most prominently throughout industry:
  • API SPEC 17J – Specification for unbonded flexible pipe;
  • API SPEC 17K – Specification for bonded flexible pipe;
  • API RP 17B – Recommended practice for flexible pipe;
  • API SPEC 17L1 – Specification for flexible pipe ancillary equipment;
  • API RP 17L2 - Recommended practice for flexible pipe ancillary equipment;
  • LR TA14 - Type Approval system procedure; and
  • LR Guidance Notes – Guidance notes for technology qualification.
