Clasification Society Guidance Information - Approval of Longitudinal Strength and Stability Calculation Programs, December 2002 - Chapter 1 Approval of Longitudinal Strength and Stability Calculation Programs, December 2002 - Chapter 4 Certification for a Specific Ship - Section 4 User's Manual

Section 4 User's Manual

4.1 The user manual must be the same version as that submitted as part of the program’s general approval. Significant changes to the manual should be advised to LR London to retain validity of the “Certificate of Approval”.

4.2 The ship's copy of the manual must be in English, in addition to a language readily understood by the user where this is not English, and must include the information listed in section Ch 1, Ch 3, 6 User's Manual 6.4.

4.3 The manual should show the program name, version number and be correctly referenced. It should also include the title, document number and approval date of the Loading Manual and/or stability manuals which the program is complementing. A statement (Figure 7) relating to the minimum draught forward should also be included in a prominent position on the manuals.

4.4 A copy of the “Certificate of Approval” issued by LR for the correct version of the program is to be included in the manual.

4.5 A note may need to be included in the manual for those programs which utilise data that does not form part of the approved Loading/Trim and Stability Booklet (i.e. calibrated tank data) and therefore produce results different to those in the approved loading manual.
