8.1 Input Data

 The radar system should be capable of receiving the required input information from:

  • a gyro-compass or transmitting heading device (THD);
  • a speed and distance measuring equipment (SDME);
  • an electronic position fixing system (EPFS);
  • an Automatic Identification System (AIS); or
  • other sensors or networks providing equivalent information acceptable to the Organization.

The radar should be interfaced to relevant sensors required by these performance standards in accordance with recognized international standards.footnote
