4.6 Penetrations of watertight bulkheads and decks

  4.6.1 Where plastic pipes pass through watertight bulkheads or decks, the watertight integrity and strength integrity of the bulkhead or deck should be maintained.

  4.6.2 If the bulkhead or deck is also fire division and destruction by fire of the plastic pipes may cause the inflow of fluids from tanks, a metallic shut-off valve operable from above the freeboard deck should be fitted at the bulkhead or deck.
