6.5.2 Connection trunks provided between topside
and bilge hopper spaces are to be carefully watched for signs of corrosion
and waste of the steel works inside.
6.5.3 On some bulk carriers, bilge hopper tanks
and topside tanks form one integral tank connected with trunk spaces.
The inside surface of a connection trunk is liable to corrosion and
should be examined carefully.
