Section 2 Definitions

2.1 Code

2.1.1 Where the text refers to ‘the code’, this means the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY3 as amended, or its successor.

2.2 Rig

2.2.1 For reasons of readability of this text the combination of masts, spars and standing rigging will henceforth be referred to as ‘the rig’.

2.3 Manufacturer

2.3.1 The ‘manufacturer’ is defined as the body that has signed the contract with LR for the certification of the rig.

The manufacturer takes responsibility for the rig in all aspects relevant for the purpose of certification. The manufacturer takes care of timely submission of the relevant documents and for the solution of any deficiencies that may be encountered. The manufacturer keeps and maintains the Technical Construction File (TCF).

The Certificate(s) will be under the name of the manufacturer and issued to the manufacturer.
